Call for high school film entries – Northern Lights Film Festival

DEADLINE THIS THURS 24 OCT

James Cook University is once again looking for budding young film makers in north regional Queensland to submit their creations to this year’s Northern Lights Film Festival.

This is the fifth year the School of Creative Arts (SoCA) has hosted this exciting short film festival and we have been so impressed by the quality and imagination of the high school entries that we have decided to make this year’s NLFF specifically a high school festival!

It is absolutely free to submit an entry and the pooled prize money to be won is $1000, thanks to SoCA and the Townsville Cinema Group. The films can be any genre, the only real restriction is that they must be short; between 60 seconds and 6 minutes in length.

This year’s screening event and prize announcements will be held at the Old Courthouse Theatre (thanks to Full Throttle Theatre Company) on Saturday 9 November . This event is free of charge, everyone’s welcome and there will even be popcorn provided!

Application form and guidelines attached, otherwise see here www.jcu.edu.au/soca/northernlights
